Transparent and convenient line-level preamplifier
I am delighted with my Topping L70. To my ears it is completely transparent, making no change to the sound of my audio system. I use it as a remote controlled line-level preamplifier (I do not have headphones). I have connected my SMSL D300 dac to the XLR input and my Denon TU-210 FM tuner to the RCA input. I have connected the XLR output to the TRS input of my Topping PA5 II amplifier. Using the remote control, I can now switch between inputs and adjust the volume from across the room without leaving my seat. I can also use the remote control to put the Topping L70 in and out of standby, with the added convenience that the 12V trigger connection places the Topping PA5 II in and out of standby at the same time. The centralised volume control provided by the Topping L70 has also allowed me to disable the volume controls in my dac and in my FIIO SR11 streamer, which makes overall operation simpler. The Topping L70 remains cool in operation. Its build quality is reassuringly excellent. It perfectly suits my particular use case, and so I am happy to offer this five-star review.
