If you have an active subwoofer, the best thing you can do is to replace the stock interconnect cable. For bass, accurate and clean signal transmission is critical, as lower frequencies are reflected and multiplied within the room; therefore any defects, impurities or losses in the transmitted signal can easily result in uncontrolled and muffled sound, and the longer distance of cable that is common in this case, is not helping.
When I purchased my subwoofer (paradigm servo 15), almost immediately, I changed interconnect from stock, with a simple (lets say level 1 cable) upgrade (under half the price of this), with the additional shielding, I was really impressed and satisfied, so I did not prioritize this upgrade. I purchased this interconnect as simple level upgrade, without checking reviews and doing deep research, as I only anticipated small improvements from my already shielded cable; boy I was wrong, I cannot in the life of me believe the transformation - mostly because now the link with my speakers (bw 603s2) is even more fluid and the bass way more natural, as if coming from the main speakers, rather than the sub! (and the cable not even burned-in yet)! I think that the increased accuracy and control was indeed needed and the final result impressive.
I have no benchmark in the price range, nor knowledge from reviews to share any comparisons from my findings. All I can say is, that it works great for me and definitely I feel that it sounds the price (or higher) - as noted in the title I feel it is a solid choice for the price and that I believe you cannot go wrong by choosing this cable for your sub.
As it is with all hi-fi equipment and accessories, spending and return in listening experience is always the case, but it is almost never a proportional relationship. From my experience on this item, I recommend that, if you haven't already, revisit your subwoofer interconnect; and if in doubt, buy this cable, I don't believe that you will regret it.
