This is one fantastic dac! Compared to Smsl D300 this D1se2 is more detailed and sound more technical without getting harsh. And this is right out of the box! Its smooth and will probably get better with a little more time! Big soundstage and very good control off the lowest frequency! Was a little worried it would be to bright for me, but thats not an issue. Good layering within soundstage, not flat like Topping d90se.. Its a keeper! Using this with Audiolab 6000a and Wharfedale evo 4.2. This is my first purchase from Audiophonics. No problems, very fast shipping to Norway!!
