Great Combo, crazy value
First of all big thanks to the audiophonics team for shipping out this pack very quickly, even though the S17 was not in stock in black at the time of order, as i was very excited and didn't want to wait i asked if it was possible to send the amplifier in silver along with the headphones and so the order was modified immediately without any complications and shipped out the same day, what can i say....what a great service! ! !
Now on two both units:
The Aune AR-5000 are outstanding headphones in this price bracket, i have compared them to similar priced headphones from Fiio, Sennheiser, Hifiman and Audio-Technica and even though the burn-in phase has not been completed yet i'm already sure that they will compete with the best if not take the crown in the below 500 Euro price range.
The Aune S17 Pro, i was very excited to get my hands on this one as i had the opportunity to get a short listen at an exhibition show, so i knew already what to expect from this one and i think this a fantastic amp it drives all my headphones with ease even the Hifiman HE-6 SE V2 one of hardest headphones to drive it needs a lot of current which the s17 is able to deliver i think they reached now their full potential with this amp. Concerning the temperature issue that a lot of users complained over the internet is not happening in my used case, i have the unit placed on my desktop with some space left on each side and on top, i added also absorber feet to the bottom of the unit to elevate its position and this further improves the airflow around the unit to help to keep the unit cool (below 62 degrees celsius with 100 MA mode engaged for several hours) So i guess for me this is it, this unit will be my main amp for a very long time to come.....
