Smooth sounding EL-34s

I share the other comments when it comes to Tube break-in. I went from Electro-Harmonix tubes (OEM on my Synthesis Roma) to these PSVANEs. At first the sound was dark and fuzzy. The voices were not forward anymore but in the far back of the sound stage. It's a derouting experience when you know they cost quite a fortune. But after 20 hours of listening the sound began to open.

Quickly after, voices were soft, warm, soundstage was clearer, and the highs were clearer.

Once you let these babies break in sufficiently, you get a good upgrade and lushy sound.

Tubes on themselves are gorgeous and the packing is top-notch. You have a verification sheet that proves the matching of the tubes with obtained results from the factory (handwritten).

The minor con I see is in the price/benefit ratio. You need to embrace diminishing returns with these tubes. Compared to my mid-life OEM Electro-Harmonix, these PSVANE brought just around 20% of an upgrade (if you consider slightly more open sound stage and clearer highs). But if it had to be done again, maybe I would've spent these 350€ somewhere else for more results.

Note : I'm using these tubes after an excellent phono preamp, on a mid-tier Tube Amp (Roma96DC), listening on vinyl only over wonderful vintage Cabasse speakers.

Après le re- tubage de la partie pré amplification de mon Cayin cs55a avec des tubes PSVANE qui avait bouleversé les caractéristiques sonores de cet ampli, voici le tour des tubes de puissance.
Je ne savais pas vraiment à quoi m’attendre, tout au plus à une petite augmentation de puissance.
Je confirme donc les avis laissés plus haut de Laurent H et Robert V.
Chez moi, j’obtiens un système énorme avec un son d’une ampleur inédite.
Mes petites DALI Menuet chantent comme des grandes Utopia. Je ne sais pas comment décrire autrement la sensation d’un son, à l’échelle 1/1. Les instruments sont pour le coup véritablement incarnés. Les timbres sont parfaitement retranscrit avec toutes les nuances possible avec une taille réaliste.
Ça manque un peu de profondeur et de largeur ; un peu…
Évidemment ça donne envie de tester les PSVANE KT88-T2 vendues dans cette même boutique.
Je pense que pour avoir le meilleur des deux monde, il faut passer sur des amplificateurs plus onéreux avec des tubes exotiques de type 845 - 805 ou autre 300B.

Excellent tube el34
Je possède un ampli cayin cs-88a avec des lampes kt88. J'ai voulu tester une bonne lampe el34. Effectivement cette lampe est vraiment excellente. Par rapport au kt88 genalex gold. Plus de texture, une écoute plus émotionnel, des basses tendus et plus de nuances pour les voix. Par contre le kt88 est plus dynamique, une image beaucoup plus grande en largeur et en hauteur. Plus de basses et le son est plus tendu. A part le prix je ne regrette pas mon achat. Pour info le rodage n'est pas encore terminé.

The first switch-on, a fuzzy, obscure, crooked, bad sound, but improving during burning, after 30 hours of listening accurate fast bass, beautiful clean mids and highs with perfect microdynamics, amazing holography 3D stage, very nice warm character, I think they are the best from EL34 line, (better than everything I've heard so far including gold lion kt88) the only small disadvantage for me (just when compare) is not such dynamics and such deep bass as on KT88. I am very very happy with this.

Suggested by a friend and quite many positive reviews I ordered and promptly received the Psvane EL34-PH matched quad from Audiophonics
I put them on my Audio Innovations 800mkIII valve poweramp: immediately greater and clearer sound! Bigger scene more detailed and musical. I am really happy and super impressed!
I believe I will keep these tubes on for a long while and will try Psvane again whenever I will need to change other tubes
